Call of Duty could leave annual releases

Although CALL OF DUTY will remain a multiplatform franchise after the agreement between Activision Blizzard and Microsoft , it seems that the future of this IP could have another drastic change. It happens that, according to Bloomberg This popular first-person shooting series could set aside the annual releases to release the fatigue among the players a little.

It is no secret that in recent years the community of Call of Duty has been feeling some fatigue on these games, and many users consider that their quality has fallen drastically as a result of these annual releases. Apparently, the senior executives of Activision Blizzard are aware of this and have already had conversations to get away from these premieres year after year.

Specifically, the different developers who work in the Call of Duty franchise consider that the IP could benefit greatly if it is given a little more time between each launch, not to mention that this would also have positive consequences for the community. For now, Activision Blizzard has not said anything about this, and considering that a new Call of Duty would be arriving at the end of this year, it is likely that we are not going to have confirmation of this news until time later.

Editor's note: I agree that lately the Games of Call of Duty already feel like quite loose products. Yes, there is a high production value for each of them, but the formula needs to be revitalized and changed to a more extensive development model would certainly help with this.
