The Activision Blizzard strike would have consequences for employees

Despite all the problems that have been exposed in Activision Blizzard During the last months, a positive aspect can arise from all this. Last week it was announced that the employees of the company intend to start a strike. This movement would not only make clear its disagreement with the managers of the company, but it is also a step towards unionization. However, This would have repercussions for workers.

According to The Washington Post, Brian Mulatto, Operating Director of Activision Blizzard, they have emailed you to the employees of the company, where asks them not to sign the credentials of affiliation to the United States Workers' union, as Communications Workers of America (CWA). This was what he commented:

We only ask you to take the time necessary to think about the consequences of putting your signature on the document that was presented by CWA. Achieving our aspirations about work culture will be something that will happen in a better way through an active and transparent dialogue between leaders and employees, something about what we can act quickly. That is the best way and not simply sign an electronic form offered by CWA or expect the result of a negotiation process legally ordered and regulated at some time in the future.

In any case, 30% of the Activision Blizzard employees sign this document, The strike will be supported by the CWA, thus obtaining a legal endorsement. Along with this, last week, the Association of A Better Activision Blizzard King, composed of workers of these companies, began a campaign on Go Fund Me, with which they seek to collect one million dollars and thus offer support to employees. So far, more than $315 thousand dollars have been collected.

At the moment there is no response from the workers before these statements, which sound pretty aggressive. On related topics, here you can learn more about the union process in Activision Blizzard. Likewise, Government officials have begun to press this company.

Editor's note:

Activision Blizzard Face New Wave Of Revolts, Strikes, & Walkouts As Workers Prepare To Unionize Hopefully the trade unionization proposal will come true. This will be a hard process and, as it already left it clear Brian Mulatto, will have repercussions. However, this is something necessary and will help, not only the current workers, but to all those who join Activision Blizzard in the future.
